Casey Anthony Investigation: Teeth and Bones Found at Suspected Caylee Anthony Crime Scene

The case against Casey Anthony, the 23-year-old Orlando mother charged with the first-degree murder of her 3-year-old daughter Caylee Anthony, continues to center around a wooded area where the remains of a small child were discovered last week.

While the remains have not officially been declared those of Caylee Anthony many close to the investigation have expressed confidence that the search for the young girl is near an end. Late last week a utility worker uncovered a plastic bag in the area and after lifting the bag a skull fell to the ground. Investigators quickly descended on the area, located less than a half-mile from the home of Casey Anthony’s parents, and have since unearthed several bones and have now found teeth.

Caylee Anthony disappeared in June, just shy of her third birthday, but wasn’t reported missing by Casey for more than a month. Casey then told investigators that she had dropped her daughter off with a babysitter and when she returned both were gone.

When investigators couldn’t substantiate her account authorities turned their attention to Casey as their prime suspect. Evidence of human decomposition was found in the trunk of a car driven by Casey Anthony as was hair from Caylee and chloroform. A computer was taken from the home of George and Cindy Anthony, where Casey and Caylee were living, after discovering several search queries related to chloroform, neck-breaking and other violent acts.

After the discovery made in the wooded area investigators initially believed they would complete their recovery by Wednesday but they continue to unearth more bones and the search could continue through the weekend.

Casey Anthony is currently in Orange County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court inMarch where she will face first-degree murder charges.
