Romance could be in the air for EastEnders' Janine Malloy and Max Branning.
Despite the pair not having a good track rate when it comes to relationships, with scheming Janine (Charlie Brooks) having attempted to poison cheating ex-husband Ryan (Neil McDermott) and Max (Jake Wood) almost being buried alive by scorned ex-wife Tanya (Jo Joyner), they could be set to join forces in the future.
Bryan Kirkwood, executive producer of the BBC One soap, admitted "sparks would fly" if the pair became romantically attached.
He explained: "Janine and Max are both brilliant characters and not dissimilar, so sparks would fly if they got together.
"You never know in Walford. After the storylines she's had lately, it's time for Janine to have some fun."
However, there seems to be one thing standing in the murdering minx's way - her "wicked" grandmother Lydia Simmonds (Margaret Tyzack).
Bryan added to Inside Soap magazine: "We've got Margaret Tyzack with us now, filming her first scenes as Janine's wicked granny, Lydia Simmonds. I reckon it's a meeting of minds - and a glimpse into the future for Janine!"
