Simon Cowell wants two hosts

Simon Cowell is considering having two presenters for the US version of 'The X Factor'.

The music mogul - who is launching his pop star search competition Stateside this year - is worried that hosting the show could be too much for just one person and has revealed he may bring in a second presenter.

When asked if the host would be male or female, he told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show: "Possibly both . You know how a lot of these shows now kind of feel empty when you watch and there is someone sometimes struggling on their own?

"I think on this show it could be helpful to have two."

Ryan is the host of 'American Idol', the TV singing contest Simon was a judge on before he left to launch the new 'X Factor'.

Nicole Scherzinger has reportedly already been chosen for one of the presenting roles.

Meanwhile, Simon has admitted he is "under constant pressure" to ensure the programme is a success.

The 51-year-old star left his role as a judge on the highly successful 'American Idol' to focus on his own show and revealed he is equally terrified and excited about how it will be received.

He said: "You're under constant pressure all the time. Anyone who says they're not is either a liar or an idiot. However, I've really enjoyed coming back. It's such a buzz."

Simon also promised viewers can expect excitement on the US 'X Factor' and has vowed not to censor any outrageous behaviour from the contestants or the judges.

He said: "I'll be lenient. Literally, the rules are off now. You can be as outrageous and as different as you want to be, and we'll encourage it.

"It's warts and all. Never censor it. Allow the audience to see what you've seen. Some of it's quite painful, controversial, but I've never had a problem with that."
