X Factor auditions rescheduled

Auditions for 'The X Factor' have been re-scheduled so they don't clash with the royal wedding.

Show boss Simon Cowell had originally planned for auditions for this year's show to take place in London on April 29, the same day as Prince William will marry Kate Middleton.

According to the Daily Star newspaper, amid security fears, the TV mogul has now moved them to start on April 26 and end on April 28.

It is believed the day of the hotly-anticipated nuptials will cause huge problems for hopefuls trying to get to the audition venue because of road blocks ensuring the royal wedding procession has a clear run to and from Westminster Abbey.

A no-fly zone will also be in place over the capital, meaning it would impossible for crew to film the yet-to-be-revealed judges arriving by helicopter.

Simon is currently in the US launching a Stateside version of 'The X Factor' and while auditions are to take place on Saturday (26.03.11) in Los Angeles, he is still finalising the line-up for the judging panel, with only record producer Antonio 'L.A.' Reid confirmed so far.

The judges for the UK show are also in question, as Simon's commitments to the US series are thought to make it unlikely he and Cheryl Cole - who is also widely-rumoured to be taking a position on the Stateside judging panel - will appear.

However, the 51-year-old music mogul recently admitted neither Cheryl, nor Dannii Minogue or Louis Walsh have been contracted to appear on the UK 'X Factor', leaving the line-up hanging in the balance.

He said: "We're going to make an announcement soon. No one's been contracted yet apart from me.

"We are in the process of going through all the shows, what we can do, and I think there will be a few surprises. The most important thing is making a commitment to people and making sure the show comes back better than last year."
