In a weird case of “what goes around, comes around,” the Las Vegas district attorney who helped prosecute both celebutante Paris Hilton and singer Bruno Mars on separate drug charges in 2010 is now facing drug charges himself.
David Charles Schubert
That DA, David Charles Schubert, was booked into jail in March 2011, charged with possession of cocaine, according to jail records. A chief deputy district attorney, Schubert was often assigned to Las Vegas's high-profile and celebrity cases, and is a member of a federal drug task force. That didn’t stop him from getting arrested after allegedly buying crack cocaine from a street dealer. A police officer noticed the crime and took action. The 47-year-old Schubert now faces the same charge that Hilton and Mars were booked on less than a year earlier.
Hilton and Mars both eventually made plea deals on their charges in Sin City, while there’s no word yet on whether or not Schubert will take the same course of action. Possession of cocaine is a felony in Nevada.
