New Jersey Nets point guard Deron Williams, who is dealing with a right wrist injury, will miss at least the next 2 games with his team as he continues to recover.
Williams, who had missed the last 3 games, had gone back home to visit his family while the Nets played the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday. But Williams has since rejoined his team in Orlando for the team's Friday night game against the Magic.
Williams initially suffered the injury to his wrist back in January, when he was playing for the Utah Jazz. Doctors say that the 26-year-old will not require surgery for the injury but that he will need about 3 to 6 weeks of rest for it to heal.
Williams, a 2-time All-Star, is averaging 14.8 points and 13.1 assists per game in eight games with the Nets, although he is shooting only 32.7 percent from the field.
