According to reports a crew of construction workers had been pouring cement on a walkway they had been working on when the pedestrian bridge collapsed.

The bridge, called a “canopy walk,” had arched over a ravine that was to give visitors to the botanical garden an elevated view of the scenery. The bridge extended 600-feet and had been under construction since September.
