Logan, LaGuardia, JFK Airports Experience Cancellations, Delays Due to Snow
Inclement snowy weather has caused several cancellations at many of the busiest airports in the Northeast on Friday.
In Boston, Logan International Airport is open, but there are several flight cancellations and delays. The Massachusetts Port Authority advised travelers to call their respective airlines for their flight status before driving to the airport.
It is currently 29 degrees Fahrenheit in the Boston area, but the wind chill factor makes it feel like 14 degrees.
LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport, New York's two airports, are also experiencing cancellations and delays due to snowy weather.
According to Weather.com, LaGuardia is experiencing an average arrival delay of 2 hours, 25 minutes, while JFK has a 4 hour, 5 minute average delay.
Nearby Newark International Airport is also experience cancellations and delays due to rain and sleet. The temperature in Newark is currently 30 degrees.
In addition, NJ Transit has altered their bus routes to prepare for the impending snowstorms in Northern New Jersey. CT Department of Transportation (DOT) has also issued warnings and offered additional assistance due to downed trees caused by snow.
