Britain's Prince William has had a low key stag party at a Norfolk estate.
The groom's brother and best man, Prince Harry, had originally planned a water sports themed party with high-speed boats and water skiing, but plans reportedly had to be changed at the last minute after details were leaked to the press.
Instead around 20 close friends of the prince are said to have gathered to give him a send off before his marriage to Kate Middleton next month.
These are said to have included James Meade, who Prince William met at Eton, Thomas Van Straubenzee who attended Ludgrove Prep School in Berkshire with the prince and Hugh Van Custem, one of William's father, Prince Charles' grandsons.
Little details are known of the weekend, but it is not thought to have cost more than £2,500.
A spokesperson for St James's Palace said: "I can confirm that Prince William's stag party happened this weekend. It was an entirely private event and we don't intend to make any further comment."
The party would have taken place closer to the wedding, but William has a busy schedule of royal engagements to take care of before then and Harry will undertake a trek to the North Pole in aid of disabled servicemen tomorrow (29.03.11).
