MPs' miniskirt ban

Russian MPs have been banned from wearing miniskirts.

A new Code of Ethics recommend that everyone working in State Duma, which is the country's lower house of parliament, and their aides should not wear any revealing clothes and exercise "restraint" in their attire.

They are also being ordered to minimalise contact with journalists and avoid being "rude" and "arrogant", according to a Russian newspaper.

The political institution is famous for the loud arguments and occasional physical fights that would break out during the 1990s.
