Explosion At Yemen Ammunition Factory Leaves 121 Dead

The cause of a deadly explosion at an ammunition factory in southern Yemen remains unknown, according to security officials. Authorities say the factory had been looted by Al Qaeda militants on Sunday. Locals were inside getting leftover ammunition when the explosion, which appears to be accidental, occurred on Monday.

At least 121 people were killed and 45 others wounded. Women and children were among the dead. at least 27 of the injured are in critical condition.

The factory is located in Abyan Province.
