Chicago Bulls Host the Philadelphia 76ers in Matchup of Playoff Teams

The Philadelphia 76ers face the Chicago Bulls tonight. The 76ers are trying to find the form that had them surging into playoff contention before losing six of their last ten games. The Bulls are looking to stay red-hot this year as Derrick Rose continues to make the case for NBA MVP.

The 76ers are currently in sixth place in the Eastern Conference ahead of the New York Knicks. They have a good sized lead on the Charlotte Bobcats, the first team to miss the playoff cut, but if they continue to play poorly could see the 6 1/2 game lead disappear.

Chicago is not the best place for Philly to regain its winning formula. The Bulls have been an elite team all season and have thrived of late. The Bulls also have a tendency to win. They have beaten Philadelphia the last four times they have hosted them in Chicago.

Rose has also been scoring in buckets over the last five games. He has scored 30 or higher in three of those games and added 17 assists in a win Saturday night. The point guard averages 24 points against Philly over their last three games. The Bulls defense has been notably stingy of late, allowing fewer than 90 points per game over their home win streak and their last four games with the 76ers.
