The Wire Actress Felicia "Snoop" Pearson Arrested

A Baltimore-area drug bust leads to 63 arrests, including Felicia “Snoop” Pearson, known for her role on the HBO show, The Wire.

A history of drug abuse and addiction can rear its ugly head at any time. Actress Felicia "Snoop" Pearson received a once-in-a-lifetime break when a chance encounter landed her a role on the HBO show The Wire.  A chance meeting with an actor from the show led to her joining the cast until the show ended in 2008. But success in the entertainment industry didn’t make her immune to falling back into old habits. Pearson was arrested recently during one of several raids in her Baltimore hometown. The five-month investigation nabbed 63 people, with 24 of them facing drug charges at the federal level.

The investigation was given the name “Public Enemies” because a lot of the main targets are violent repeat offenders, according to Carl Kotowski of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration in Baltimore. The raids focused primarily on heroin and marijuana, with Pearson arrested on a charge of conspiracy to distribute heroin and aiding and abetting, prosecutors said in a statement.

Grace After Midnight

Pearson has shared her past problems very publicly. She penned a 2007 autobiography titled Grace After Midnight that told the story of her drug abuse and drug dealing as a young mother. This arrest is certainly not her first brush with the law, either. At 14, Pearson killed another teenager and served time the state penitentiary, according to her memoir.
