New York Yankees Deny Making Manny Ramirez Offer

While Manny Ramirez may be the biggest star on baseball’s free-agent market the club he says will make a three-year $75 million offer for his services has denied those claims.

Ramirez reportedly told friends and family that the New York Yankees would be making the offer yet the club’s GM, Brian Cashman, denied those reports telling MLB.com simply, “not true.”

The Yankees have already been big players in the free-agent market this offseason landing CC Sabathia and A.J. Burnett in deals worth a total of $243.5 million. They have said they would not enter into the Manny Ramirez sweepstakes but the club is under pressure to produce a World Series title following a season in which they missed the playoffs.
