Monday Night Football Schedule: Chicago Bears Face Must Win Against Green Bay Packers

The wild NFL season has produced enough playoff scenarios to offer nearly every team outside of Detroit and Kansas City a shot at the playoffs and on Monday night the Chicago Bears (8-6) will continue their quest for an NFC North title when they face the Green Bay Packers (5-9) at Soldier Field.

The Bears playoff hopes remain on life-support following the Atlanta Falcons win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday and now a win against the Packers would place them even with the Vikings and send the playoff cloud into Week 17.

Chicago would have to follow a Week 16 victory over the Packers with a Week 17 victory over the Houston Texans and a Vikings loss to the New York Giants to win the NFC North. Of course they could also earn a wildcard spot if they win out and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys each lose.

First things first for the Bears though as they host a Green Bay team that embarrassed them 37-3 in Week 11 at Lambeau Field. In that game Ryan Grant ran for 145 yards against the Bears defense and Green Bay held the ball for nearly15 more minutes. Chicago’s offense was held to just nine first downs and 234 yards of total offense.

Chicago bounced back from the loss and has won three of their last four to keep their playoff hopes alive while the Packers followed the win with four straight losses.

Kickoff for Monday night is set for 8:30 p.m. ET.
