Guns fired in dog poo row

Two neighbours opened fire at one another after they argued about dog poo in the US.

Jerry Blasingame, 60, and Terry Tehnet, 52, got into the altercation after Terry accused Jerry of letting his dog defecate on his lawn.

Terry, who produced a shotgun, was charged with assault and Jerry may also be charged for firing back with a pistol.

Both men were hit but not seriously injured and claim the other produced his weapon first.

Chief Deputy Sheriff Billy Barber said: "Homeowners and property owners need to respect each other's property... If a dog did that in your yard, call the law. Don't take matters into your own hands."
