Guilty Verdict Handed Down to All Five Men in Fort Dix Conspiracy Plot

The five foreign-born defendants standing trial for conspiring to launch an attack on military personal at Fort Dix in New Jersey have been found guilty and could not face a sentence of life.

Prosecutors argued that the men had been planning on carrying out an attack that would have killed as many soldiers as possible. Authorities arrested six men in connection to the 2007 plot and while one of those men pled guilty to providing weapons the other five maintained their innocence of the conspiracy charges.

The guilty verdict came after six days of deliberations following an eight-week trial. While they were convicted on conspiracy charges they were acquitted of attempted murder.
