Northern Italy Struck by Strong Earthquake

A 5.2-magnitude earthquake has struck northern Italy near the city of Parma but has was felt as far away as Milan and Florence.

 

There have been no reports of injuries or serious damage to structures but officials are still investigating the affected areas.

 

Parma is located just north of Bologna and is home to the University of Parma, one of the oldest universities in the world. About 180,000 people live in the northern Italian city.
