Justin Bieber and Ashton Kutcher are set to team up for buddy comedy 'What Would Kenny Do?'.
The 17-year-old pop star will reportedly play a teenager who meets and is guided through high school by his thirtysomething-year-old self (Ashton) who comes back from the future .
The project - which was developed by Sony with Justin in mind - will be produced by Ashton's Katalyst Entertainment and Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment.
It was slated to begin shooting this year but the 'Baby' hitmaker's touring commitments have reportedly pushed a shooting date back to 2012.
The original script for 'What Would Kenny Do?' is an R rated comedy based on a teenager who meets a hologram claiming to be his future self although it is understood this new version would be toned down considerably to cater to Justin's young fanbase.
'(500) Days of Summer' writers Scott Neustadter and Michael Weber have written the new script.
Ashton has previously spoken about his desire to work on a new version of his prank show 'Punk'd' with Justin, calling him a "funny kid".
He said: "I really can't talk about it because everything's sort of in process. It's a possibility that it could be happening. I will not be hosting the show in the future. People were afraid I was going to punk them wherever I went and I'm starting to get invited to stuff again and it's actually a good thing. I'll be involved in some capacity if we do it and there could be a new host but I can't say a whole lot.
"He's a nice kid and he's a funny kid - and people don't know he's a funny kid yet.and he's sneaky. And I like sneaky people."
