Katy Perry found it "hard" having make-up put on for six hours at a time for her new music video 'E.T.'.
The 26-year-old beauty - who is well known for her love of extravagant stage costumes and loud make-up - didn't enjoy getting prepared for her new promotional work but taught herself to be patient.
She told MTV News: "It was, like, five and six hours, each make-up look.
"It was hard for me! It was really a patience thing for me on this video. But you know, it's like when you're doing a film. Sometimes you have to do prosthetics and you have to get really old or turn into an animal or a monster - and that's kind of what this process was."
Despite the time it took to get into the outfits it did not take her as long to get out of them, saying it took "like, 10 minutes" to do so.
Katy - who is married to comedy actor Russell Brand - recently became the face of hair straightening brand ghd, promoting a range of products for the British company.
She said: "I'm so excited to be working with ghd, especially using their tools on my 'California Dreams' tour to get me stage ready. ghd products have a reputation of being the best products in the biz, and I like being associated with that. I'm very excited to reveal the styles I did with legendary David LaChapelle in the upcoming ghd campaign. Keep your eyes peeled for it!"
