Thierry Magon de La Villehuchet, Fund Manager who Invested with Bernard Madoff, Found Dead in NY Office

Thierry Magon de La Villehuchet, a fund manager and co-founder of Access International Advisors who invested with disgraced investor Bernard Madoff, has been found dead at his New York office in what is believed to be a suicide.

According to reports de La Villehuchet, 65, had been despondent following the loss of more than $1 billion in investors’ money when news of Madoff’s Ponzi scheme surfaced. He had tried to retrieve as much of the money as possible but found the pressure to be too much.

Access had invested $1.4 billion with Madoff but when the disgraced hedge fund manager was arrested on Dec 11 those investments proved worthless and the $50 billion Ponzi scheme was revealed.
