A dog was found alive in the ruins of a house that burned down a month previously in the US.
Terisa Acevedo cried tears of joy when she found Lola the long-hair dachshund had escaped the blaze with her life.
After fruitlessly searching for her canine companion, Terisa had assumed Lola had perished when their home was destroyed.
She said: "It was a miracle. There was not one day that went by that I didn't think about her, that my eyes would tear up - I missed her so much."
The pooch was said to be in good health considering she spent 27 days scavenging for food and water.
