Kym Marsh's baby will stay in hospital for a few weeks.
The 'Coronation Street'star gave birth to Polly, her daughter with partner Jamie Lomas, prematurely last week and while the little girl is healthy, she is not yet allowed home to join her half-siblings, Emily, 13, and David, 15, the actress'children from a previous relationship, and the actor's five-year-old son Billy.
Kym wrote in her column for new! magazine: "We had so many emotions when she was born - I felt relieved, joyous, euphoric and very content to finally have her. I was very happy with her weight, 4lbz 1oz. She was seven weeks early, and many babies that are born four weeks premature weigh around the 4lbs mark, so she was a good size.
"David, Emily and Billy have been into the hospital to meet their new little sister and it was lovely to see them all together. We're planning to spend Mother's Day (03.04.11) with her in the hospital; too, as she will have to stay in for a couple of weeks but, of course, I will visit her every day."
Kym - whose son Archie died shortly after he was born 18 weeks early in February 2009 - also revealed she had left buying supplies for the new baby until the last minute.
She added: "I'm so glad that I went out shopping for baby stuff at Mamas & Papas, with Jamie's sister Charley Webb, just days before Polly arrived. I hadn't wanted to tempt fate before that, but now we've got the basics for the nursery as well as lots and lots of cute little outfits!"
