Russia Threatening to Cut Of Gas Supply to Ukraine Due to Unpaid Bills, Lack of Contract

The Ukraine may soon be without gas as Russia has threatened to cut off its supply to the country if they don’t pay bills amounting to more than $1.6 billion and fines of $450 million.

While a spokesman for the gas giant Gazprom had earlier warned Europe that a supply cut to Ukraine could affect other customers but they have since recanted and assured their customers that gas deliveries would not be slowed.

Gazprom has said Ukraine has failed to sign a new contract and without a deal in place they will not deliver any gas.
