According to the LA Times, Southwest Airlines will cancel 100 flights nationwide as they inspect their airplanes. A 747 plane departing from Phoenix, Arizona was grounded after a five foot section of the outer part of the fuselage tore open and the cabin lost pressure. The passengers were terrified and had to put on their oxygen mask but no injuries occurred that would require accident lawyers. The plane landed safely at a military base in Yuma.
Southwest grounded 600 flights over the weekend for inspection and thus far have found two other planes with small cracks in the skin of the fuselage. The planes will be grounded until repaired to avoid accidents which would necessitate the employ of an accident attorney. More thorough inspections are being conducted on the Southwest fleet to determine air safety. The crack that caused the emergency landing of Friday’s flight wasn’t detected during routine maintenance.
