The New Jersey cities -- Newark, Jersey City, Orange, Irvington, and Millville -- were selected due to their prior commitment to neighborhood revitalization strategies. The training is designed to foster the collaboration of governmental and non-profit leaders from around the country in developing and implementing strategies to make productive reuse and revitalization happen. The benefits from such redevelopment for New Jersey’s cities are increased property tax revenue, lower crime, and a more vibrant economy.
