NBA Scores: Orlando Magic Blast New Orleans Hornets for Sixth Straight Win

Dwight Howard scored 12 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, Hedo Turkoglu added 20 points, six rebounds and five assists and Rashard Lewis finished with 18 points as the Orlando Magic (23-6) blasted the New Orleans Hornets (16-9) 88-68 on Christmas Day for their sixth straight win.

The game was never in doubt as Orlando jumped to an 8-0 lead in the opening quarter and after Mickael Pietrus buried a three-pointer the magic were in front 29-14 at the end of one. That 15-point advantage ballooned to 30 in the second quarter after a 15-0 run midway through the frame and the Hornets had no answers.

With a 61-31 lead heading into the second half the Magic never allowed the Hornets to get closer than 19 as they picked up the home win. The Hornets’ Chris Paul saw his record steal streak end at 108 games as the point guard finished with 12 points on just 5-14 shooting and no steals.

Orlando was deadly from beyond the arch as they hit13-28 from three-point distance with Turkoglu leading the charge at 4-6 and Jameer Nelson matching him.
