Keanu Reeves: 'Bill and Ted 3 script due'

Keanu Reeves is expecting a draft of the third 'Bill and Ted' movie "in six weeks".

The 'Matrix' actor - who starred as Ted Logan in 1989's 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventures' and its follow-up 'Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey' - confirms plans for a third instalment of the movie with original co-star Alex Winter are advanced and believes the story will focus on the pair writing a song to save the world.

He told MTV News: "I believe the writers are six weeks away from a draft. No pressure guys!

"I know a little bit, but I don't know - the fellas went off and cooked it up. I don't know what happened when they put the elements together.

"When we last got together, part of it was that Bill and Ted were supposed to have written the song that saved the world, and it hasn't happened.

"So they've now become kind of possessed by trying to do that. Then there's an element of time and they have to go back."

Keanu previously revealed he had meetings with scriptwriters Chris Matherson and Ed Solomon to work on a follow-up to the time-travelling comedy.

He said: "We're trying. Alex and I are still friends and we're talking, and we're talking to Chris and Ed.

"I would love to play the role and I'd love to work with Alex and Chris and Ed again."
