NFL Week 17 Schedule: Dallas Cowboys Face Must Win against Philadelphia Eagles for Playoff Spot

Despite seemingly doing everything they could to avoid the playoffs the Dallas Cowboys (9-6) are a road win away from entering post season play but they’ll have to knock off the Philadelphia Eagles (8-6-1) on Sunday to get there.

Dallas had a perfect opportunity in Week 16 to clinch a playoff berth but their fourth quarter meltdown against the Baltimore Ravens appeared to put them on the outside looking in. The Cowboys then had the good fortune of seeing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Philadelphia Eagles lose which gave them life and now they sit a win away from the number six spot in the NFC playoffs.

The Cowboys have had a rough time on the road this year posting a 3-4 mark with just one of those wins against a team with a winning record, the Washington Redskins. After a loss to the New York Giants in Week 9 dropped them to 5-4 they bounced back and won four of their next five and looked to be primed for the playoffs but they fell apart against the Ravens last Saturday and will now need a win to avoid a disastrous season.

Amazingly, the Eagles still have a shot at the playoffs and while they are slim they’re still there. Philly will need to knock off the Cowboys and the see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lose at home to the Oakland Raiders and either the Minnesota Vikings or Chicago Bears lose.

The Eagles have been a hard team to figure out as they’ve beaten the Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants but played poorly against the Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals.

Kickoff is set for 4:15 p.m. ET.
