A Spanish prisoner twice escaped custody after his wife sent fake faxes ordering his release.
Jose Carlos, 57, was arrested after he played the double trick and was afterwards found hiding in a hollowed-out sofa in his Madrid home.
He was in a cell awaiting trial in Arganda del Rey when officers got the official-looking fax pretending to be from a regional court.
It was followed up by a phone call in which he had someone pretend to corroborate the order and was freed to a waiting taxi.
He was caught out when police realised he used the same method to escape Valdemoro jail a couple of months earlier.
