Dermot O'Leary tips groups for success

Dermot O'Leary expects bands to do well on the new series of 'The X Factor'.

The programme's host has started filming for the next season of the show, and is impressed with the standard of entrants so far, believing many of them have been inspired by last year's popular runners-up One Direction.

He said: "We've already started filming the auditions for the latest series and so far they've been really good.

"There's already a huge range of characters and we've had our biggest ever crowds turning up to be in the audience.

"I can see there being more boy bands, like One Direction, but also loads of girl bands."

The future of the programme has been uncertain with Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole expected to depart to work on the new US version of the show, but Dermot thinks it will remain a fixture in ITV's schedules for a long time to come.

He added to Closer magazine: "I think it'll keep going, at least for the moment."
