Sweden's Queen Silvia has been injured in a run in with a photographer in New York.
The 67-year-old royal was out in the US city on Monday (04.04.11) with her youngest daughter Princess Madeleine when a Swedish photographer confronted them, and while trying to get away the queen fell, injuring her foot.
A statement from the Swedish royal family read: "The queen chose to go out through a side door and walked quickly toward a parked car in order to keep away from the photographer who ran after her. The queen then fell and injured her foot and wrist."
Silvia - the wife of King Carl XVI Gustaf - has since been seen wearing a leg brace and walking with a cane.
However, her schedule remains unchanged and she was still well enough to receive a prize from the Health Rights International organisation on Tuesday night (05.04.11)
Swedish royal spokesman Bertil Ternert said it was not yet known if any legal action would be taken about the incident, which was caused by a freelance photographer for tabloid Aftonbaldet, who said they "deeply regretted" the incident.
