Two snowmobilers were killed on Saturday when they were buried by an avalanche while riding near Grand Lake on the western side of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado.
According to reports a group of four had been snowmobiling in the area when the avalanche occurred, trapping three of the riders. One was able to escape while the other two were buried and when rescue teams arrived they were declared dead.
Colorado has been experiencing heavy snowfall in recent days as well as strong wind conditions which has increased the potential for avalanches.
