Goldfrapp starting new album

Goldfrapp are starting work on their sixth album.

Musician Will Gregory finds getting back together with bandmate Alison Goldfrapp "refreshing" following his recent work on opera 'Piccard in Space'.

He told Radio station BBC6 Music: "I am ready to do it now, to get back to Goldfrapp will be a very refreshing change.

"We have tried sitting down and writing lists and having coffee to talk about it, but usually we just mess about, it's good not to be too conscious about what you do."

Although the 'Rocket' hitmakers have plenty of unused material from their 2010 album, 'Head First', they are likely to start recording from scratch.

Will added: "We have, as usual, lots of stuff in the bottom drawer which we rejected the first time round, but I expect we'll want to start a fresh this time round."

In November 2010 Alison revealed the group's record deal with EMI had ended, but she was excited to continue their career with a new label.

She said: "We are no longer with EMI. It's exciting because it is kind of, like, 'Wow, this is a whole new chapter really, what will we do and will anyone want us?'

Soon after the band signed to independent record company Mute.
