NFL Scores Week 17: New England Patriots Keep Playoff Hopes Alive with Road Win Over Buffalo Bills

Matt Cassel was 6/8 passing for 78 yards, Sammy Morris collected 85 yards on the ground and LaMont Jordan added 64 yards rushing and a touchdown as the New England Patriots (11-5) beat the Buffalo Bills (7-9) 13-0 on Sunday to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Wind gusts of up to 75 mph forcing both teams to rely heavily on the ground game and that led to a single field goal in the first half as Stephen Gostkowski gave the Patriots a 3-0 lead at the break with a 33-yard boot in the opening frame.

The Patriots got some breathing room late in the third quarter when Jordan scored on a 2-yard run and Gostkowski finished of the scoring with a 23-yard field goal in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter.

New England will need the New York Jets to beat the Miami Dolphins if they are to win the AFC East or they could earn a wild card berth if the Baltimore Ravens were to fall to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
