NFL Scores Week 17: Philadelphia Eagles Crush Dallas Cowboys to Grab Last Wild Card Spot in NFC Playoffs

Donovan McNabb was 12/21 passing for 175 yards and two touchdowns, Correll Buckhalter had 63 yards rushing and 59 yards and a TD through the air, and the Philadelphia Eagles (9-6-1) defense and special teams forced a total of five turnovers to blast the Dallas Cowboys (9-7) 44-6 on Sunday to lock up the final playoff berth in the NFC.

The first quarter was even as both teams managed to put field goals on the board to head into the second quarter knotted at 3-3. From that point on it was all Eagles as McNabb opened the scoring with a one-yard run and with 2:09 left in the half Buckhalter scored on a 4-yard toss from McNabb.

Philly then converted a turnover into more points as Brent Celek caught a one-yard touchdown pass from McNabb with 15 seconds left to push the Eagles advantage to 24-3. On the ensuing kickoff the Eagles forced Pacman Jones to fumble and with 3 seconds left David Akers booted a 50-yard field goal and it was 27-3 at the break.

The Eagles defense did the scoring in the second half as Chris Clemons collected a Ton Romo fumble and went 73 yards for a touchdown and then Joselio Hanson picked up a Marion Barber fumble and went 96 yards for a touchdown and by the 8:28 mark in the third Philly was up 41-3. Akers added a field goal to push the lead to 44-3 and the Cowboys had absolutely no answer.

Philadelphia will now travel to face the Minnesota Vikings in the first round of the NFC playoffs.
