House Members Play as Government Shutdown Looms

In a forwarded message circulating the internet certain member of the House are photographed while playing on their computers. House members are assembled to discuss the budget for the remaining months of 2011 to avoid a Government Shutdown. While House Minority Leader Lawrence Cafero speaks before his peers are obviously distracted. Democratic Representatives Barbara Lambert and Jack Hennessy are caught by the camera playing Solitaire. One unnamed Representative is checking baseball scores and another is looking on Facebook. It’s hard to make up a new budget when you work three days a week and can’t be bothered to pay attention during crucial talks. Their 179,000 dollar salaries paid for by the people deserve more respect than that.

Among the many other things like National Parks and Museums, visa and passport applications that would be affected by a shutdown, people seeking mortgage relief through the Federal Housing Authority will see their applications delayed. For the homeowner that must retain a foreclosure attorney, the government shutdown will have a dramatic effect on their future. The desperate homeowners don’t have the luxury of time when it comes to keeping their homes.

Entering foreclosure is disheartening for people, but a foreclosure lawyer can work to lessening the impact. If the budgetary shutdown occurs the people who need help, while our Representatives play on their computers will have only  foreclosure attorneys to turn to, since our elected officials can’t be bothered. They budget should have been resolved in October but these pictures further prove their lack of concern for their constituents.
