Jazz Star Freddie Hubbard Dies at 70

Grammy Award winning jazz musician Freddie Hubbard has died. The 70-year-old passed away Monday at a Los Angeles hospital, where he had been since suffering a heart attack last month.

Hubbard’s style was influential to other jazz musicians. He won a Grammy in 1972 for best jazz performance by a group for the album ‘First Light.’ Although Hubbard’s heath had been declining for several years, he continued to make music.

In June 2008, he played his last concert in New York to celebrate the release of his final album.
