Iverson Angered Over Traffic Stop

By: Daun Lee

Basketball player Allen Iverson was a passenger in his Lamborghini when the driver was pulled over for a routine traffic stop. The driver Antwuan Clisby failed to use his turn signal while changing lanes, then the police discovered that the tags on the luxury car expired in 2009. Iverson cursed officer using the f-word numerous times and asked “Do you know who I am?” The car was to be towed away because of the expired tag and Iverson told the officer he had 10 other vehicles. Seems like with that many cars he would be care to keep his vehicles road legal.

There are laws in place regarding vehicles for a reason and that is to keep our streets safe. Most states require safety inspections be conducted on every vehicle on the road before a license plate can be issued. Safety inspections assure that vehicle won’t endanger others by causing a traffic accident from failed breaks or flat tires, for example. If a car is unsafe the result may be a collision and necessitate an accident attorney.

For many, the things that one has to do to be street legal may be an inconvenience but ask anyone injured or their accident lawyers how inconvenient their troubles are. Safety on the roads is the priority of the DMV in any state. Their requirements are in place to protect every driver, but if someone is negligent in regards to another’s safety an accident attorney can seek compensation for any trouble caused.
