Former NFL Lineman Danny Villa Charged with Rape, Held on $100,000 Bail

Danny Villa, a former NFL lineman who spent twelve years in the league for a handful of teams, has been charged with raping a 15-year-old female student at a high school where he was the athletic director.

 

Villa reportedly raped the student over a three-month period while he was the head football coach at Walpole High School in Wrentham, Massachusetts while also serving as the school’s athletic director.

 

On Tuesday Villa pled not guilty to three counts of rape of a child and three counts of enticing a minor under the age of 16. He was being held on a $100,000 bail.

 

Villa played in the NFL from 1987-1998 with the New England Patriots, Phoenix Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and Carolina Panthers.
