Jenn Sterger: "I'm Not a Gold Digger"

Sterger During Good Morning America Interview

Jenn Sterger, the former New York Jets sideline hostess who allegedly received inappropriate photos and messages from famous NFL quarterback Brett Favre, said in a recent interview that she is not in it for the money.

"I haven't made a dime off anything in this whole situation," said Sterger in an interview that will air on Good Morning America on Tuesday and Wednesday and on Nightline on Tuesday night. "Not from the pictures. Not from Favre. I never wanted to sue anyone. That was never an intention of mine. I'm not a gold digger. The only way I wanted to make my money this whole time was to just have a job."

"You know, I was trying to go to work. Do my job," Sterger told ABC. "But how are you supposed to report on the news when you are the news? It was tough. It was embarrassing. It was humiliating. All I wanted to do was go to work. Do my job. That's all I wanted."

Sterger also said that she doesn't even know how Favre got her phone number in the first place, although she recalls a peculiar event during her days with the Jets.

"I was approached one day at the beginning of the preseason games, by a man wearing a Jets badge, employee badge, who asked me, 'How would you feel if Brett Favre asked for your phone number? What would you say?'" recounted Sterger. "And I just looked at him, my usual smartass self. And I said, 'I'd say I like my job an awful lot. And I've been told I look remarkably like his wife.'"

The NFL conducted an investigation into the allegations last year. The league concluded the investigation in December by fining Favre $50,000 for not cooperating. According to the league, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell could not conclude if Favre actually violated the league's personal conduct policy.

According to a report from TMZ.com, Sterger may very well be telling the truth when she says that she is not a gold-digger. The report states that "the only lawsuit Sterger has filed is against her former manager to try and get back "materials" related to the Favre saga."
