Kim Cattrall was "mortified" when she saw the final cut of 'Meet Monica Velour'.
The 54-year-old actress gained weight for the role of an ex-porn star who is forced into a life of pole dancing, and admits she was "in shock" when she watched the film - which also stars Dustin Ingram - for the first time.
She said: "I was mortified. I was so mortified because, first of all, I didn't want to see any dailies or photographs or anything. I had a very specific idea. When I see whatever I do for the first time, I'm kind of in shock because it's kind of formulated in your head and in your heart.
"And you're so inside of it, you're doing it, and then when you take it outside of that, it's almost impossible to be objective.
"It's almost like you're in a trance. This was so different than anything I've ever done. Not just the physicality, but the voice and the heart of it. I just didn't know if it had worked. I just didn't know. And it took a couple of viewings for me to relax."
The 'Sex and the City' actress was also pleased to be working with first-time director Keith Beaden on the project because there was a "thrill" with his naivety.
She added to Ology.com: "It's very exciting to work with someone who's never directed a film before because they don't know what not to do. There's kind of a thrill with that."
