David Tennant 'smitten' with daughter

David Tennant is "smitten" with his new baby daughter.

The former 'Doctor Who' actor became a dad for the first time when his fiancee Georgia Moffett gave birth to a baby girl, Olivia recently and David's friend DJ Christian O' Connell revealed on his Absolute Radio breakfast show that David is enjoying first time fatherhood.

He said: "A couple of you have been asking on Facebook how DT is, David Tennant, I swapped texts with him over the weekend. He is smitten with his new baby daughter.

"I know from his texts he's enjoying it but it is utter chaos even with his sonic screw driver he's still got to change the nappies."

Christian also revealed the couple kept Georgia's pregnancy a secret because they wanted to "enjoy it" privately.

He said: "Some of you asked why didn't he say anything when he came on the show when he was co-hosting it a few weeks ago.

"It was for the simple reason that they wanted to keep it private which was an amazing job that they managed to do that because when he came in and co-hosted the show his girlfriend was in the studio watching, we have three web cameras in here and she was clearly showing. It was something they wanted to keep to themselves and enjoy it instead of making it public property. We wish him all the best and hopefully he'll be coming on the show again soon

David, 39, - who was the 10th doctor in the BBC show - proposed to Georgia, 26, - who has an eight-year-old son, Tyler, from a previous relationship - over Christmas and it has been speculated they will marry on New Year's Day 2012.

The couple met when Georgia - who is also the daughter of Peter Davison, the fifth Time Lord - guest starred in an episode of 'Doctor Who' in 2008 and she.
