A political argument has broken out in New York over whether the onion should be named the city's official vegetable.
A bill was proposed in the state senate by politician David Carlucci to give the smelly food a place in the US city's history - but Michael Nozzolio argues that the honour should go to sweetcorn instead.
While David argues that onion deserves the title because of its important crop value, Michael thinks sweetcorn should be officiated because it is even more valid in terms of acreage and the number of producers who work with it.
Some supporters of the onion are saying that sweetcorn isn't even a vegetable but in fact a grain whereas sweetcorn supporters are drawing attention on the onion's effect on consumers' breath.
Michael said: "I try to avoid them if I'm going to a meeting."
