An Air France Airbus A380 bound for Paris with 495 passengers aboard collided with a Delta Comair commuter plane carrying 62 passengers Tuesday night at JFK Airport in New York. No one was injured in the collision, but it appears both planes sustained damage.
The collision occurred around 8:09 p.m. when Comair Flight 6293 was preparing to park after arriving from Boston. Air France Flight 007 was taxing when one of its wings clipped the tail of the Comair plane. Passengers and crew on both aircrafts disembarked and the planes were towed away.
"The passengers were deplaned and were taken into the terminal area. No injuries are reported. The FAA, NTSB and Port Authority are investigating this event, and we are cooperating in their investigation," said Delta spokesman Anthony Black.
