Bernie Hamilton Dies at 80

Actor Bernie Hamilton, who is known for playing a police captain on the ‘70s TV series ‘Starsky and Hutch,’ has died. Hamilton died Tuesday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center of cardiac arrest. He was 80.

Hamilton made many guest appearances on TV shows. He appeared in more than 20 films, including ‘The Young One,’ ‘Walk the Walk’ and ‘The Organization.’

Hamilton is best known for portraying the straight laced police captain Harold Dobey on ABC’s police drama ‘Starsky and Hutch.’

He also has a hand in the music business, producing R and B and gospel records under the Chocolate Snowman record label.
