Chicago Bulls Win to Secure Home-court Advantage Through NBA Playoffs
With a win in their last regular season game the Chicago Bulls clinched home-court advantage for the NBA playoffs. The 97-92 victory over the New Jersey Nets combined with the San Antonio Spurs 106-103 loss to the Phoenix Suns sealed the NBA's best record and will give the Bulls the advantage over any opponent should they advance all the way to the Finals. Their 62-20 record is the best since the 1997-98 season that they won the championship.
The Bulls were losing the game by three with 5:46 left to play but Kyle Korver tied it with a 3-point shot with about 4:30 left. The Bulls pulled ahead by five with 17.3 seconds on the clock to all but seal the win. The Nets' Jordan Farmar drove for a layup with 11.8 left but two free throws from Korver pushed the lead back to five and the game was done.
The Bulls start their playoff run on Saturday with their opening series against the Indiana Pacers.
