Doutzen Kroes is to travel to space.

The Victoria's Secret supermodel will be one of the first passengers to board a flight into the stratosphere with Dutch space tourism company Space Expedition Curacao (SXC).

The beauty said she was excited to be one of the hundred 'Founder Astronauts' selected to take the commercial flight in 2014.

She said: "My work has literally brought me to the most beautiful places on earth. But apparently nothing is as beautiful as the view of the earth from space.

"Astronauts who have been lucky enough to have had that experience, say it is life changing. I cannot wait to go."

Doutzen, 26, is an ambassador for Dance4Life, which is an initiative that educates young people about AIDS and HIV.

She will be joined on her flight by Erica Terpstra, a member of the dance4life advisory board and the lucky recipient of a "golden ticket" which is set to be auctioned off at Amsterdam Arena on July 2nd.

The Dutch star - who has appeared in shows for Gucci, Valentino and Versace - is married to DJ Sunnery James and gave birth to their first child Phyllon in January.
