Charles Barkley Reason for Running Stop Sign: Sex

More details surrounding the DUI arrest of Charles Barkley have emerged. Barkley was arrested New Year’s Eve in Scottsdale, Arizona after an officer witnessed him run a stop sign and smelled alcohol on his breath.

According to reports, the former NBA star told the arresting officer that the reason he ran the stop sign is because he about to have oral sex with his female passenger, who has not been identified. The woman is not believed to be his wife of 20 years, Maureen Blumhardt.

“He told me that he ran the stop sign because he was in a hurry to pick up the girl I saw get in the passenger seat. He asked me to admit that she was ‘hot.’ He asked me, ‘You want to know the truth?’ When I told him I did he said, ‘I was gonna drive around the corner and get a b**w job. He then explained she had given him a ‘b**w job’ one week earlier and said it was the best one he had ever had in his life,” says the officer.

He was taken to a nearby police station where he given a blood test and booked on suspicion of DUI. The blood test results are due back within a week. The police report says he told an employee at the station, “I’ll tattoo my name on you’re a**” if the person helped get the DUI charges dropped. “He laughed and then quickly corrected himself and said, ‘I’ll tattoo your name on my a**’ and then laughed again,” the report reads.

The report also states that a handgun was found in the vehicle. It is unclear if the gun is legal.

If convicted of the charges, Barkley could face between 1 and 10 days in jail, a $1,000 fine and his driver’s license suspended for 90 days.

Barkley, 45, played in the NBA for several years before representing the United States in the 1992 and 1996 Olympics. In October 2008, he announced that he would run for governor of Alabama in 2014.
