Feds Sue McDonalds Franchise over Sexual Harassment Charges

By: Daun Lee

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is suing a McDonald’s franchise in Wisconsin over multiple allegations of sexual harassment. The franchise is one of 42 owned by Missoula Mac Inc. and is located in Reedsburg. The EEOC filed the suit on behalf of three after trying to settle out of court but the term where unsatisfactory. The lawsuit states that numerous teenage and adult women were subjected to comments about body parts, unwanted passes and inappropriate touching. The EEOC is suing for lost wages and punitive damages on behalf of the women.

The EEOC lawsuit also states that the environment was so hostile that one woman quit to get away from the harassment and alleges another woman was fired for complaining about the problem. Other women who weren’t involved in the suit also came forward with their stories and the lawyer for the EEOC believes even more will come forward.  Many cases of sexual harassment go unreported as a sexual harassment attorney will tell you.

In spite of their knowledge that sexual harassment is prohibited in the workplace, many people still engage in the practice. Men and women who are subjected to this sexual debasement and disrespect can hire a sexual harassment lawyer to put a stop to the harassment. Sexual innuendos, jokes, comments about body parts and inappropriate touching make the work environment hostile and uncomfortable. Daily harassment can be ended by a sexual harassment attorney.
